The section titled 'The Changing Role of Leadership in Self-Managed Teams' is dropped to avoid the appearance of redundancy. It is a topic better suited for discussion under the previous heading – 'Guidelines for Improving Self-Managed Team Effectiveness.' The section on Decision Making in Teams has been scaled back to focus only on the Normative Leadership Model (discussed in Chapter 5) because it delineates the appropriate level of participation to use in a given situation.

This makes the two sections in Chapter 8 – Leader-Centered and Team-Centered Decision Making redundant. Lussier is Professor of Management at Springfield College.
